Pure Rottweiler Breeders is a family-run kennel on a quiet rural property at Erie Ave S RR 2 in Haldimand, Ontario. For more than twenty-five years, our family has bred and raised German Rottweilers with one goal: dogs with sound temperament, correct structure, and the steady, loyal nature the breed is known for at its best.
Where It Started
Our breeding program began decades ago out of a personal love for the Rottweiler breed — not as a business first, but as a commitment to a dog we believed in. Over the years that commitment became a small, careful kennel operation raising a limited number of litters each year, always prioritizing the health and temperament of our dogs over volume. We've watched the breed's reputation shift over the decades, and if anything, that's made us more deliberate about how we breed and raise our dogs, not less.
Meet Andrea
Andrea has been the hands-on breeder behind our program for the majority of its history, working directly with every litter from whelping through the day each puppy goes home. Families who've worked with us consistently mention her knowledge of the breed, her patience answering questions long after pickup day, and how well-socialized her puppies are compared to other breeders they researched. It's not unusual for buyers to call years later with a training question or just an update on how their dog is doing — that ongoing relationship is something we actively encourage rather than treat as an inconvenience.
Andrea is a CKC Member Breeder, following the Canadian Kennel Club Code of Ethics for member breeders, and our breeding decisions are informed by the standards maintained by the American Kennel Club and the German ADRK breed standard.
Our German Bloodline
We breed German-bloodline Rottweilers, known for a heavier bone structure, blockier head, and the temperament standards upheld by German breed clubs. Our sire and dam are chosen deliberately for health, structure, and stable disposition — not simply paired for convenience. We limit the number of litters we produce each year specifically so every litter gets the individual attention it needs, rather than running a higher-volume operation where puppies are raised more like inventory than family members.

Our Property in Haldimand
Our kennel operates from a rural property in Haldimand, Ontario, which gives our dogs — and our puppies — space to move, play, and be raised outdoors as well as inside our home. Litters are whelped indoors and gradually introduced to the wider property as they grow, so by the time a puppy leaves us, they've experienced far more than a single indoor pen.
How We Raise Our Puppies
Every litter is whelped and raised in our home, not an outdoor kennel building, so puppies are exposed early to household sounds, children, and everyday handling. By the time a puppy is ready to go home, they've been microchipped, started on age-appropriate vaccinations and deworming, and given a temperament assessment to help match the right puppy to the right family. We pay close attention to which puppies suit active households versus calmer ones, and we're upfront with buyers about that fit rather than just matching whoever asks first with whichever puppy is left.
Why 25+ Years Matters
Breeding responsibly takes time to learn — which health issues actually show up generations later, which temperament traits are worth prioritizing, and how a puppy's early weeks predict their adult personality.
